Founder and host of Fuse

Arash Nalchegar is the founder, producer and host of Fuse Podcast, an independent media platform for long-form, research-led and candid conversations with people from different intellectual and professional worlds.

He studied physics and taught it for years before working professionally in media. That background is reflected in his questions, his attention to reasoning, and his interest in understanding the hidden mechanisms behind social, scientific and cultural phenomena.

From physics to media

Arash's media work began in 2020 with Persian Poetry, a project interpreting and analysing the work of six foundational figures in Persian literature: Ferdowsi, Khayyam, Hafez, Saadi, Rumi and Nizami. He approached these classical texts both as literary heritage and in relation to the questions and concerns of people today.

Fuse continues that journey through conversation. Each episode develops through research, planning its themes, and considering the guest's personal and intellectual experience. The aim is more than an introduction or a set of prepared answers: a conversation should reveal layers that shorter, more formal formats rarely have room to explore.

An approach to conversation

On Fuse, Arash approaches conversations without predetermined red lines. He aims to move beyond prepared answers and examine a guest's intellectual world, where ideas cannot be separated from lived experience and may be intertwined with choices, doubts, failures, hopes and contradictions.

For Arash, a good conversation is neither an interrogation nor an unchallenged platform. It offers space for precise questions, patient listening, and a connection between thought and life. Guests' arguments and positions are questioned and challenged wherever necessary, without sacrificing disagreement to politeness or appearances.

Topics range from science and the mind to society, culture, politics, migration and power. Their shared principles are resisting simple answers to difficult questions and preserving editorial independence.
